We’ve been overwhelmed—in the best possible way—by the incredible outpouring of love and support since announcing our closing last week. The messages, the hugs, the tears, and the stories you’ve shared have been both heartwarming and heartbreaking. We never imagined our little announcement would make the news—let alone that it would appear on quite a few TV channels!
Our reservation book filled up way too quickly, and before we knew it, we were overbooked. With the added walk-in traffic, the volume has been more than we ever expected, and our reservations are completely full until our last day, and the book is closed. If you happen to have a reservation that you’re willing to voluntarily give up, we would certainly appreciate that generous gesture. We’re currently doing our best to move guests to times that are less impacted, if space becomes available, but at this point, availability is very limited. Walk-in space will also be extremely limited during these final weeks, and we truly appreciate your understanding. We know that, unfortunately, some may not be able to have a final meal with us, and we hope you’ll stop by during our post-closing hours to say goodbye.
This decision was necessary in order to ensure that your experience reflects what WCYC has always stood for—and to ease the strain on our crew, especially those in the galley. They’ve weathered every storm with us, and now it’s time to ease the mainsail.
The good news is—we’ll still be here after our final service! Starting the week after we dock, we’ll be open Monday through Friday, 11 AM to 6 PM, and we welcome you to come aboard one last time to say hello, goodbye, and browse through the special pieces we’re offering. Our wine collection, rum collection, memorabilia, and merchandise will be available for sale. We’ll also be buying back gift cards during that time.
In the past week, we’ve heard so many beautiful stories— about proposals, anniversaries, family traditions, memories made over quiet dinners and lively celebrations. If you have a story you’d like to share, we’d love to hear it. Please write to us at Contact Us. We’ll treasure reading these once the sails are down and the galley has gone quiet.
We also plan to keep the Scuttlebutt running, so that we can stay in touch even after we’ve sailed off on our new adventures. Think of it as our message in a bottle—an easy way for you to see what new adventures we’re charting next, and for us to hear what seas you’ve been sailing, too. Whether near or far, we hope you’ll keep in touch as part of our extended crew.
From all of us—thank you for sailing this wonderful adventure with us. This has truly been a bon voyage, and your love, loyalty, and wind in our sails have meant the world.
